I have done the steps already. Imported the files and did proper installation. I want to remove the previously updated data and image in the theme that came in default. How to do that.

I don't understand, did you import a demo?
If you've imported a demo, you can simply remove the posts.

That's what. I have imported the demo successfully and did changes using customization. I still don't know how to remove the gallery pictures which came by default. When I click edit page it is only showing the text that I can type nothing else.. so I don't know how to remove it. Hope I'm clear now

Ok, now I understand. :)

The Home page is made up of sectors.
In each sector you can insert Sections.
The sectors can be modified from Customize-> Pages-> Home Willer, from here you can move them, or if you don't want a sector (for example the Gallery Section) you can set no Section for that Sector!
Sections are blocks that are created from content.
You can edit the sections from Customize-> Sections.
Here for each section you can select the categories of posts you want to show.
So to change the images or posts you have to replace the default posts with your content (posts or pages) that you want to create for your site.
The images that appear on the Homepage are the foreground images of the posts or pages you create.

I hope I was helpful.
